Bought this for our entry foyer which has 19ft ceilings. The previous wrought iron chandelier came crashing down as someone was attempting to clean the glass in it. So this chandelier fit the bill perfectly- no pesky glass to clean and it was an impressive size which was required with such high ceilings. I have to say the scale is bang on the money! At 4ft diameter the light is impressive and at full length of the supplied chain, the base of the fixture is 8ft, 2 inches from the ground. The only word of warning I would have is if you intend to install with a dimmer switch, you need to have a 1000w dimmer as an 800w dimmer switch might not handle the 24 x 40w lights (960 w). The Edison bulbs give off a warm light and not a great deal of light as is typical with Edison bulbs. The light is flattering though so would do well over a dining table provided the scale worked for your situation. Would buy again, even the electrician commented on how nice the light was.
I bought this for my bedroom and couldn't be happier. I have it on a dimmer switch and when turned up, it's very bright, and when dimmed it's just as pretty. The crystals cast off a nice shadow on the ceiling.
I needed a light for over my dining room table in my apartment. Given that I rent, I didn't want to put any lighting into the ceiling. This looks really cool and serves my purposes perfectly. Probably should have bought the one with the dimmer switch, but bought a dimmer switch with cord that works great.
Looks much more expensive than it is and I get so many compliments on it. I have the light in my master bedroom and with a dimmer switch it looks fantastic!
