I did quite a bit of searching online and came across this one that looks more like a real fireplace and also has 2 shelves. The downfall to this fireplace is that the shelves are not wide enough for most components, but it wasn't a deterrent for me as I plan to build a component shelf/table to put next to it. I also plan to mount the TV eventually, so I can decorate the mantle. Take note that this fireplace is definitely ivory, not white....even though it appears white in most photos. I have ivory cabinets in my kitchen, so I think this looks good in my house even with white baseboards. I also love that I can use the flame in summer without heat. I felt it was pretty easy to put together as long as you follow the instructions closely and pay attention to what you're doing, but it takes a couple of hours at least to put all 3 pieces together (comes in 3 boxes). This fireplace feels solid and very sturdy, so I have no doubt it will last a long time.

I bought this item two days ago and was very excited to assemble it. The product itself is gorgeous, but we received two of the same parts and we were missing one part. So unfortunately we have to wait until the right part comes in. I was hoping to put this all together before the New Year, but we won't get the part until after. 😞

color appears a bit greenish...but overall attractive..

I love this fireplace- it was easy to put together and is fantastic quality! Does not put out a ton of heat per the smaller heater, but overall a great find!!

This is an adorable fireplace- the flames are not cheesy. Not that bad to put together (though a screw gun is helpful) and I agree with the other reviews that the color is not very creamy off white- more green. Would have given 5 stars but I was sent a broken (made badly- not broken in transit) top mantle piece, but Great Offer Stock sent a replacement in a bout a week.

The fireplace was fine and looks good; but I am not crazy about one of the rugs I bought. It looks cheap.

added a homier feel to a huge family room, receive lots of compliments

We purchased this fireplace for our formal living room almost a year ago. This provided a much-needed focal point for the room and we honestly couldn't be happier with it. It puts out a nice amount of heat and if we close the french doors to the room, it will get nice and cozy fairly quickly. It took about 90 minutes to put it all together and it was only mildly frustrating. If you can build Ikea furniture, you can handle this! We did end up painting it a clean white because it is a cream color so it looked dirty next to our white trim, but we knew that when we purchased it so it wasn't worth deducting a star. I would make sure to measure out how it will look in your room. I do wish it was a little bigger. I feel like the could have made it 8-10 inches higher and it would up the wow factor and make it feel like its a full-sized fireplace. It just feels a little small for our room (12x20, 9 ft ceiling height). Knowing how it looks in our room, I still would have purchased it! Regardless of it being a little small, we really do love it!

Only gave 4 stars because the 2 back panels of the book cases were broken but we were still able to work around them....

I bought this for myself for my 75th bday. I am extremely pleased and have shared pictures. My son put it together with slight help from me. It took a little over an hour and I would recommend to anyone wanting a smaller fireplace unit.

Purchased this fireplace in White. Perhaps I should have chosen a different color. Not as pretty as I thought. For the price, it serves it's purpose. Produces heat, and holds decorative candles, lamps and a few books. I was kind of nervous adding books and lamps. So far, so good it is holding up.

This fireplace just barely missed a full five stars from me. It missed that star due to difficult assembly. Pieces were not cut quite right and that led to things being a little lopsided and off-center. Nothing most people would notice, but I know it's there. Also, the coloring is a lot more in the yellow tones than the creamy off-white I expected, so beware when matching colors. (Like I have an old piece of ivory jewelry from my grandma and the fireplace is definitely more yellow) Fortunately for us, the color still worked with our living room's palette. It's a stunning focal point for the room and my favorite thing in the world on chilly autumn days. I crank that heat up and snuggle under the blankets with my coffee. So glad we got it, even with the few issues.

It took two of us a couple of hours to put this together with really good instructions, no problem. It's very pretty and looks more expensive than it was. The fireplace flames are realistic and not cheesy like some I have seen. Recommend!

5 1/2 hours for my husband to assemble, still not functional so no further comments.

This was a lovely surprise The fireplace went together easily and is so comfortable with the light of flame and heat in a non vented instant utility. I would buy it again.

This is a nice fireplace. It looks nice and upgrades the room. I do wish the book shelves had some depth they are extremely shallow. An average hard back book would not fit.

This is a nice piece of furniture. I have one large room that encompasses the living room at one end, the kitchen at the other, and the dining in the middle. The fireplace takes up wall space between the living and dining areas and brings the whole room together. It is sturdy and the fireplace unit itself is very attractive. Not difficult to assemble; did it myself. Quite pleased.

First off, this is a beautiful fireplace, but the picture depicts a much whiter ivory than it actually is. It's more of a yellowish ivory. Also, the instructions recommend the only tool being needed as a screwdriver. If you used a screwdriver to put this together instead of a electric drill/screwdriver, it would take 5 hours instead of two. My husband put all three pieces together in under two hours with little trouble. Otherwise, it's a lovely piece for the price!
