I ordered this piece after reading the reviews. We need cabinets that won't take up much space, and this fit perfectly. I also needed something that wouldn't require much assembly. This was the perfect choice! The only assembly required was inserting pegs in the holes and sliding in the shelves. Quick and easy! My husband and I love the way it looks in our family room. We'll probably order another one for the office!

Great idea that needs work
This storage pedestal was exactly what I needed for my CD collection. As stated, it is a rich, dark cherry color. It fits perfectly in a corner without taking up much space, even when open, and is sturdy enough to support a 13-pound bronze sculpture. The only work required is to put in the shelves, which is a snap. The packaging was excellent; the unit had no breaks, chips, or scratches. Now the bad news, the most annoying of which is that the two magnets for the door are so tiny that they do not keep the unit closed once the CDs are added. It took a small piece of folded construction paper wedged invisibly between the base and the bottom of the door to keep it from swinging open. Also, the four holes for the top shelf in the door were too high, possibly because the door is not tall enough (There is a 1/3 inch gap between the top of the unit and the top of the door). Instead of standing the CDs upright, they only fit by laying them flat, which does not allow for the 336 CDs the description says the unit will hold. Overall this piece looks elegant and expensive, and actually deserves 3 1/2 stars. With a few corrections to the design and more attention to the workmanship, it would definitely deserve 5-stars.

Your Money's Worth
I was somewhat hesitant about buying this product sight unseen, but I was more than pleasantly surprised when it arrived. It was all I could ask for and more. Great appearance, looks just like the photo, good workmanship, great value and it arrived quickly. Can't ask for much more!

Great product
It is really the only one of it's kind. I looked everywhere for a pedastal media holder. This is it. Cleverly designed, not much to add in except shelves. The little metal shelf holders are in an envelope rather then just loose as people suggest. Perhaps they improved packaging. The color is truly a cherry. If you can live with that this is a very clever and attractive solution to the CD disaster explosion that most people contend with.

Looks good semi loaded with disks but not sturdy
Although good looking,once loaded with disks, it becomes unstable when you try to open the cabinet; the door angle scraped the base panel.

The pedestal has two panels. For CDs, you can put 6 shelves in each panel. Each shelf can store 28 CDs. The total for CDs is 336. For DVDs, you can put 4 shelves in each panel. Each shelf stores about 18 DVDs (depends on the thickness of the case). The total for DVDs is 144. Or, you can mix the CD and DVD shelves in each panel however you want.
