    Get close to the rug size but smaller by 1" or so - trim off any excess. Note: the rug pads are never square or exact in measurements - they are "hacked off" so you end up doing some trimming. I had a hot knife that I purchased to do the cutting since I had quite a few to do. Otherwise you will need a very sharp utility knife and a board or some other solid surface to put under the pad as you cut it ( so you don't damage your floor). If you do the cutting with the utility knife on concrete you will go through at least one blade. Just be careful not to cut yourself.

    Items that do not contain rubber or adhesive should be safe to use on radiant heated floors. This rug pad is made of 100% felt and backed with latex for extra grip which could cause blemishes or odor depending on floor surface material.

    On hardwood the rubber side goes on the floor. That is the all grey side. On carpet it will be the rough side down.
