I have used the rice function (pressure cooker) and the slow cooker functions. This is my first pressure cooker and it definitely had a bit of a learning curve. I assumed brown rice would use the "brown rice" button, but no, not if it is basmati, in which you use the "white rice" button. They have some handy tables, but I didn't see it because it wasn't in the "rice" section of the manual. Definitely read the entire manual carefully. I was annoyed to ruin two batches of rice before getting one to come out. The steam release is very loud and scares my cats. It does take a bit longer than expected for the proper pressure/temperature, so if it says it will take 10 minutes, it is more like 20+. I'm sure I will get the hang of it, but seems like it will take a few tries with anything new.
