Slumber Solutions 12-inch Gel Memory Foam Choose Your Comfort Mattress

Number 1 tip: Do your research! After reading up on the proper density, weight, and topper I should get when buying a memory foam mattress, I thought I knew exactly what I should get. All my life I've loved softer beds, the ones you really sink into, but as a side sleeper, I learned that's pretty terrible for your back. With that in mind, I decided to order this bed with a Medium level of firmness. I have to say, it's pretty perfect. If I were looking for a rock solid firm bed I would be highly disappointed. When I lay on this bed I feel like I sink in slightly more than any other memory foam mattress I've tried but in an advantageous way. Every contour of my body is cradled and supported. My boyfriend, who has terrible back issues, also says he sleeps much more soundly now. If you're thinking about buying this bed, I'd keep in mind the level of softness is probably one level more soft than it says--meaning what you think is Medium is Soft, what you think is Firm is Medium, and so on. The gel top does it magic and I'm not left burning up from the trapped heat. I'm a 5'5'' average build woman and alone was able to get this mattress upstairs by myself, though I don't recommend it. When you open it be mindful if you can open it on your frame/platform, do so. Moving this sucker is a task because it is heavy and it is like moving a blob. There is a slight smell of chemical/plastic but it is truly very faint. I let it air out during the day, sprayed some Febreeze, and slept on it that night (which is sooner than they recommend but I didn't have any problems.) I'm glad I stuck with a 12" deep too simply because I didn't have to buy all new sheets or be limited to the "deep pocket" sheets when buying new ones. Something I didn't think about when I bought it but glad it worked out! Overall I'm pleased I did my research on what I should buy and that I read the reviews on this mattress. I thought it was weird to roll the dice and buy a bed I've never seen in person but it's worth the gamble. I sleep more solid than I think I ever have. The boyfriend, the dog, and the cat even approve! I know because one of them is always on the bed. Oh and be aware, mine was delivered in what looked like a body bag. It showed up on my porch on Halloween too. At least no one thought anything of it.

Mattress arrived in a timely manner Expanded and had very little odor We have both the 12 inch firm mattress and the 14 inch firm mattress. Though the two mattresses are supposed to be the same, the 12 inch “firm” mattress is noticeably softer than the 14 inch with the same rating.

I LOVE this mattress. I have a bad back - 4 herniated lower discs that are manageable. I'm not contantly in pain or anything, but I do have to be careful not to aggravate the discs and throw my back out. When that happens, it hurts. After doing some research about gel memory foam, I ended up purchasing the firm. I read that the average person typically finds the most comfort from a mattress with a top layer of 3-inch thick / 3.5-4 lb density memory foam & that the best quality memory foam mattresses have a top of layer of 3-inches with a second 3-inch supportive layer. Unless I'm it reading wrong, the description of this product doesn't state the actual density of the firm vs. the medium. The description under "Firm" reads "3-inches of firm gel memory foam" and "3-inches of firm polyurethane foam". Then there's another bullet for "Density" that reads "3-inches of 3.5-pound gel memory foam". I wasn't sure how to interpret that, so I just got the firm thinking that if I ended up purchasing the wrong one, I'd rather the mattress be too too firm than too soft because I didn't want to feel like I was "sinking" into the mattress. I'm pretty sure I made the right decision. I can definitely feel the mattress contouring to my body, but not so much that I struggle to move around & get out of bed. It's defintely firm, but it's a soft firmness if that makes any sense. It's soooo comfortable & I sleep so well on it! I love this mattress so much that I'm considering purchasing the same mattress in a medium for my 11-year old son to see if I can feel any difference. But until then, I am extremely happy with this purchase & would highly recommend it.

Bare with the long review.. hope to answer all questions. I bought this mattress to replace my old foam mattress purchased in 2006, that lasted about 6 years (had to use foam pillows beneath for last 2 yrs.). I bought a firm, just below the firmest and I am happy for it. I can tell the difference but not from discomfort, (recommend firm for back/hip troubles). My spine and neck and hips, are a mess. I was surprised that I could sleep after unpacking because of bursitis, arthritis/fibromyalgia in mostly hip area. My hips locked up (own fault) after unpacking the mattress myself, but I couldn't sleep on old foam only mattress, one more night! Even though it's a Firm and I was on a walker to get around, the first night I slept on it, I didn't think I'd sleep. I even woke on my back, thinking, oh darn, I'm in trouble, or would have been (normally). Slept through the night for 5 nights even though my hips were locked up and lower back hurting. I intentionally slept on the worst hip and I fell asleep with no pain, so quickly, if not for the clock, I'd wonder if I'd slept at all!. The cool gel foam, though firm, caused no heat spots or pain, even though I should have had some discomfort. No more trying to pull myself out of a cavern I'd sunken into (I am about 45 lbs, overweight). The outside cover is nice and well made, a mole skin type fabric on lower side and a nice stretchy and well vented top and upper half, held together with nice braiding, where the two meet. No hot spots, woke on back (almost always now) and firmness is an absolute wonder. And being in considerable pain when going to bed, the first 4 nights.. Mercy. It's a wonder to have such comfort, even with a painful spine and hips. I healed up twice as fast as I would have, in the past from the fibromyalgia attack. I have only a little stiffness left after a week, when normally it's 2-3 weeks. Can't recommend enough for spinal, hip and other sleep issues. I added two cool gel bubble/foam pillows (separate review) that I'm sure made my sleep comfort even better. I know it did. I hope this helps, those in need!

OK i have really considered writing a Very accurate and honest review after purchasing this Mattress! -i have to say i have been having lower back problems really starting to bother me, and i was VERY concerned buying a mattress online... but figured worst case scenario the price is still so low i could afford to sell and buy a second one if need be. -I Choose the 12" Medium Firm w/Geltop... if anything my only regret was not ordering the FIRM... Ill explain... i read all the reviews very detailed and they seemed to contradict each other, and i was left very confused on whether they were too soft or too firm? My Sister actually purchased a Soft one a few months earlier and loved it so much she had me sold... but also a little hesitant to order the firm and regret it being too hard? hince i played it safe and ordered the medium... However the Geltop is actually MUCH softer than the reviews really mentioned... Yes it is EXTREMELY comfortable!!!! amazing to lie down! but almost just a bit on the soft side... However the base foam is solid enough it does offer enough support for my back, and i can honestly say my back is feeling better now after this last month of sleeping on it... having discussed this with my sister as well, both of us agree that the mattress feels softer than you would expect, especially with the gel top... If u want soft, order the medium, and if you want medium order the firm.... u can always soften up a hard mattress but u cannot harden up a soft one... Play it safe and order the harder one! After all that, i gotta say this was an AMAZING purchase, and i am very very happy!!!! for the price i almost consider ordering a second one, but my next bed i will confidently order off this same website!!! Slumber Solutions is a quality brand... the cover is REALLY high end, i was Really impressed when opening the mattress... it took a full 24hrs to fully open, and the smell wasnt too bad... Every single friend that has come by, i asked theyre opinion, and have let a few friends sleep in it, and everyone has been so positive... GREAT Mattress, cant beat the price! Trust this review, i am 100% honest, and have nothing to gain or lose by talking good or bad. Wait no longer, sleep better!!!

Best mattress i have ever owned. It comes compressed in a plastic wrapper in a box. You have to roll it out the cut the plastic bag and it starts to decompress. The instructions state to wait 24 - 48 hours before use it is worth the wait. The gel and foam feels so good. It cradles the body.

In 2020, I ordered the 14 inch queen mattress version of this and it has been my dream mattress. I moved in with my boyfriend and this mattress became the guest bed as he had a king. Every guest who has stayed on it LOVED it. Well the time came to replace his old mattress and I knew for sure I wanted this one again. I decided to get the 12inch for height reasons thinking it wouldn’t be that much different. Sadly, we ordered the “plush” but this is definitely more stiff than my original mattress. So much so that I had to put my mattress topper I had on my the old mattress that I thankfully hadn’t gotten rid of yet. Don’t get me wrong, it is still a great mattress. But the plush is definitely not as plush as the 14” one.

My wife wanted another bed that was softer than the hybrid memory foam mattress we previously had. We decided to go with the medium and we love it but I am currently trying to decide if this bed is too soft. The bed conforms to how your laying and you sink just a little bit. Will update after a couple months.
