This umbrella base is the bomb! Once you fill the base with sand (as directed), it is super heavy, keeping your umbrella from tipping over. There are tightening screws to clamp the umbrella pole in place so the wind doesn't rip it out of the base, either. Because it has wheels, I can shove it around with my foot to reposition it as needed. There are foot-pedals to lock the wheels so it doesn't move which are super-easy to operate. I've had the base for about five years now, and have had no problems with it whatsoever. Because it's so heavy, I leave it on my patio year 'round, and it still looks like new.
Read MoreJust put it together and hoping it keeps my umbrella from getting destroyed in windy conditions
Read MoreI've had these base about 2 mos; so far they look great on my patio. Love how easily they move when needed. When not in motion they have a lock mechanism that keeps them stable. Not sure how they'll hold up all year but so far I'm extremely happy with them since they still seem to be stable through the high winds we've had so far.
Read MorePerfect for the patio. Allows us to put the shade where it's needed.
Read MoreThis stand is the best stand ever! I love this. Rolls easily and is indestructible. I've had it almost a year now and have recommended it to all my guests who come sit at my patio. Perfect weight and ingenious design!
Read MoreWhat a shame, such a great product and they want to save on stainless steel screws! Leaves nasty rust stains. Not recommended!
Read MoreI never have to worry about my umbrellas tipping over! I love the convenience of being able to move at whim.
Read MoreEngineered to last. Despite all the plastic. Comes as a deconstructed shell that requires one to fill with sand or bricks - so you will be making a trip to your local home store. One strong person required, two is best to put together. Rolls nicely. Good deal on Great Offer Stock.
Read MoreWe purchased 2 of these after a recent backyard remodel. They are fantastic. They come with several different ring sizes to accommodate different pole diameters, as well as a Velcro strip to ensure there is a tight fit. It did not take my husband long to put together. We purchased sand from Lowes to fill. Definitely use the sticker that helps prevent getting sand in the screw holes when pouring sand. The only problem we encountered is we have a raised patio. It's kind of heavy to lift this up to the raised patio once filled. They glide effortlessly over our travertine decking. I would definitely buy these again!
Read MoreI got tired of buying cheap umbrella bases only to have them crack or rust after one season. I decided to spend a bit more on the Shademobile and have been pleasantly surprised. These are strong and durable - even with only bricks installed. I used 12 of the $* * concrete bricks for weight rather than the recommended masonry bricks, and these have been more than enough for our deck. I ended up buying 3 more of these for rental properties as well. Worth the money.
Read MoreI like that this umbrella stand is sturdy AND mobile. However, I'm not a very strong woman and it is still a little tricky for me to move around. Also, the buyer should know that it requires you to purchase sand and bricks to make it sturdy.
Read MoreI read all the reviews and asked questions before buying this base because the "heavy" cast iron base I bought last year was a mess - the feet broke off and it discolored my deck, plus it was really hard to move and tipped over with the slightest breeze. I got the Shademobile and used the 12 brick method and my same trusty umbrella. The base is so sturdy that I no longer have to run outside and crank my umbrella down, even if it's moderately windy. I have it on my deck because the back of my house faces south and in the summer here up north the sun is brutal. This easy-to-roll base lets me roll my umbrella throughout the day to block the sun and keep my house cooler. For me, just the bricks are plenty of weight in moderately windy conditions, and it's easy for me to roll it by myself. I highly recommend this.
Read MoreWe put about 80 plus pounds sand in this to make it stable. It has locking whells so when you do not want it to move, it won't move! Love this.
Read MoreThis stand is awesome. It is easily movable and sturdy.
Read MoreThis is the best base for an umbrella. The reason is that the wheels allow anyone to move the umbrella easily. The traditional metal base is very heavy and requires someone that is able to more it...not me! This wheeled base is worth every penny you spend on it.
Read MoreI added both the sand and the bricks. This umbrella base is still easy to move, but very heavy. I don't expect the wind will be an issue.
Read MoreWe ordered the bronze to match our umbrella pole. Received it this afternoon. Husband put it together within 20 minutes. He said it was easy. He used a mix of sand & brick. Easy to wheel around. We tried it on our mini putting green and patio pavers. We have a 9ft Galtech Umbrella in it. Now that we know we like it and it works, we'll be purchasing the accessory table as well. The price was above good. Better priced than any other site and local stores we checked.
Read MoreThis is by far the best umbrella base I've ever purchased ! We have 11ft market umbrellas that we purchased from Costco and was having a hard time finding a base. This base has exceeded my expectations !! I absolutely LOVE IT !! and don't forget to order the accessory table ! it's the perfect height and comes in handy !! Thanks Great Offer Stock !!!
Read MoreThe base was a bit larger than I anticipated. With sand and several bricks, it keeps the umbrella very stable on our deck. We get quite a bit of wind off the Chesapeake Bay but the base keeps the umbrella in place. We do take it out of the base when storms approach. The wheels make it perfect to move with the sun.
Read MoreWhat a clever design. Bravo! Once it is weighted properly, even a large umbrella is stable. The wheels are super easy to lock and unlock, and make the whole unit roll easily. It's perfect for my needs.
