"What are the dimensions of the desk when the drawer/extension is shut?"

Difficult to put together I'm not particularly handy, but I've successfully built my share of Ikea furniture over the years. The directions on this are not very clear. I had to screw and rescrew pieces; and I'm fairly certain the boards are drilled in the wrong places (in one instance). One screw was missing from the packaging. It's nice looking enough.

Save Yourself the Hassle Echoing what other reviewers have said, super complicated to put together. While it looks nice once it is together the frustration during the assembly process is just not worth it. The instructions are poorly executed. The diagram of the parts aren't illustrated in an easy to understand manner. I even made the mistake of thinking that two of the parts (#10s) were cut wrong because they weren't the same height as the other pieces (part #'s 8,9,11) they needed to be attached to. I called Great Offer Stock wanting a replacement to pull parts from, which they sent, only for me to discover the parts were all sized the same exact way. I don't recommend this desk but if you decide to go ahead and buy, prepare yourself for a struggle and remember parts 8,9,10 & 11 do align despite the #10s (there are 2) being cut slightly higher.

Safavieh Berkley White Chrome Desk This desk is great! I love the aesthetic of it and I get compliments from everyone who sees it, including an interior decorator. However, I must say that the estimated time on the instruction sheet, 40 mins, is laughable. I spent 5 hours trying to build it, at which point I gave up and waited for my boyfriend to get home to build it. It took him about 3 hours to undo all my work and then to set it up himself. Great desk, but I have learned my lesson, leave the building to him.
