    You'll definitely want to put one of those no-skid pads under it. Get one of the slightly thicker ones to make the carpet feel a little softer and you'll probably be happy with the results. The back of the rug is just tough/hard cloth so it's pretty smooth and doesn't have any bite to it. It would definitely slide around on its own.
