    Hello Lauren B., one possible way of cleaning shag rugs would be to flip the rug over and vacuum the backing. Once done, you can choose to vacuum the floor the rug was place on. Shag rugs will typically always shed at the first instance of receiving them. The shedding will decrease through time. Thank you for shopping with us.
