I read the other reviews about shedding and I haven't had a significant problem; it could be that since it is black, any shedding from the white areas appears more prominent. I also have it in my dining room which isn't a super high traffic area. It looks absolutely fabulous, just as beautiful and dramatic as I had hoped against my glass top table and ivory parsons chairs.
