First let me say that I am an ASID, IIDA residential interior designer. The colors of this rug are very different than the image here shows. The image shows saturated (bright, true) colors. In reality this rug's colors are much more unsaturated (muted, grayed). I would describe the "red" as rust, and describe the rest of the overall background colors as being in the sage, maize and green-beige family. There is no brown in this rug, although it would work well with greenish-browns and greenish-grays. The rug is indeed 100% wool, and the nap does measure about 1/2" H. But the warp is only 12 threads per inch and the weft is only 14 threads per inch, which is a pretty loose weave. As such, it is much more casual than what I expected it to be based on the image shown. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, as it could work well in a family room. But IMHO, it would not work well in a more formal living or dining room.

    Option: 2'3" x 4' - Brown/Beige

The two Safavieh traditional Oriental Wool rugs that I purchased from Great Offer Stock are EXACTLY what I expected. Quality, this wool and beautiful understated colors. I have had some problems in the past when ordering rugs on-line, as the colors were not as they were pictured on the site. However, these rugs were spot on. I am extremely happy with purchase, which arrived even sooner than I expected.

  • Love it!!!

    Option: 7'6" x 9'6" - Brown/Beige

I read through all the other reviews on this rug prior to ordering, so I understood that the color wasn't as shown. I LOVE it! It's perfect for my room. I would say the colors are: primary sage green and khaki. There are outlines of olive green and gold, but nothing that stands out too much. The red pops, but in a good way. I was worried that red would be the wrong tone, but I really think it would go with any red...brick, burgundy, barn red, etc. I needed a rug that wasn't too dark (would show pet hair), and not too light, showing spills. It needed to be busy but not overpowering. This rug fits the bill perfectly. Shipping was great. Ordered Tuesday night (late), and received the rug Friday morning. Wow...I would definately order again, and probably will soon.

  • Beautiful rug!

I have waited about a year to write this review b/c I wanted to see how the rug held up. The answer? Very well. Note: no dogs or cats or small children, but lots of board game-playing adults and teens have been on the rug. I was concerned about the "green" color that some reviewers spoke of in the rug b/c the room in which I was putting the rug is warm-toned with rich gold, red, and brown tones. The green is more of a very light grey with a slight undertone or hint of green in it and is not noticeable (probably due to my color scheme in the room). The red in the carpet does "pop" as another reviewer stated (a deep red - not lipstick red) and I have had so many compliments on the rug. As for shedding, yes, the first few months, I could vacuum it every day and take out lots of fuzz. After one year's use, that has greatly diminished, although I can still get some fuzz out of it. The one thing I have noticed is that I need to sweep the hardword floor more often. Because the flooring is a dark cherry, the lint from the rug does tend to "dust" my floor more often, but in fairness, I have to sweep the floor every day anyway b/c the dark wood shows everything. There were a couple of small areas on the rug where the fibers kind of "popped up" like loose threads at about the 3-6 month range. Although that concerned me, I cut those off with scissors and I have not had any "repeat offenders" and no more threads have done that. The rug is thick and durable, but again, please note that while I have a lot of foot traffic on my rug, we have no small children and no shoes are allowed in the house. You will have to decide how that affects your decision. Despite my concerns with purchasing such an expensive rug (in my pocketbook) off the internet, I am so glad that I did!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this rug! I purchased 2 of the Grey Beige 6' rugs. I read the reviews about the colors. I wanted a green/grey color in the rug. The pics online and my do not do this rug justice. It is exactly what I wanted, the color is more of a muted grey/blue/green color Just perfect. It goes perfectly with my wood vanity and light green walls in the new bathroom.

  • This could be soft blue-green not just grey!

This rug is absolutely beautiful. The color is called grey/beige but it could be a very soft and subtle blue-green. Almost French country like. So don’t let the description lure you away from it. If putting it with grey, the grey tones would pop more but since I was wanting the blue-green color pallet, it’s perfect for me. I ordered a 8’ oval and runner in this style. I’m in love!

I love my new rug. Got concerned when some reviewers implied that the colors wouldn’t match the pictures in the app, but they did match, and it’s beautiful. Arrived quickly and was packaged well.

Questions & Answers

  • Q:

"Is this rug blue or grey??"

    • A:

It’s got both. Blue and grey. And yellow and gold and red. Overall it’s muted, yet gorgeous.

  • Q:

"The blue/beige rug should be model number AT822A. I would like to order this rug from your site, but the model number here is AT822B. I'm afraid to order these large rugs because I'm afraid I will not receive what I had planned on purchasing."

  • Q:

"I have looked at the photos taken of this rug in various homes. In some pics the grey/beige looks to have a strong blue cast. Can anyone tell me the true colors?"

    • A:

The rug is beautiful and the color looks more green and beige! We like it so much we ordered it again in the round size also gorgeous!!!!

  • Q:

"Are the rugs pre-treated to be stain resistant?"

  • Q:

"Will this item, Safavieh Handmade Antiquity Anner Traditional Oriental Wool Rug in Brown/Beige, 2'3"x8' be back in stock? If so, how can I get notified. I purchased the 2'3"x6' and it is a bit short of what I need and would like to get the longer one."

  • Q:

"How much does this 8'x10' rug weight?"

    • A:

This rug, rolled up at delivery, weighs about 50 pounds, I'd guess.

  • Q:

    "How much does it weigh?"
