Very nice, neutral rug! I have had my eye on this one for a long time. I saw a price that I thought was a real good one, so I ordered it along with a 2'3"x13' runner to match. My hardwood was installed in early August, and I was told to wait 7-10 days to roll out the rugs. They are beautiful on their own, but I did not rate them with 5 stars because it looks as though they might be from different companies. They are both from Safaveigh, with the exact description except for size. The runner is more plush, and the scroll pattern is smaller and narrower than on the 8x10. I was hoping they would look more the same since they are not located far from each other in the house. If you're picky in the same way that I am, this might bug you too.

I love my rug! I bought this rug a few years ago ago for the dining room, and it still is absolutely beautiful. I get so many compliments from family and friends. It absolutely changes the room. This is my third of this collection I have this one in my guest room, a larger one in my master bedroom, and a runner in my vanity area. nice rug The thick pile of the rug can be difficult to vacuum, and it can be hard for the vacuum to get stuff out of the low spots (the design), but it's a really nice looking rug, so you have to be willing to deal with the slightly higher maintenance. Despite the thick pile, this rug is not softer/cushier than a regular rug, like I was expecting (I hoped it could cushion my baby's falls a little). If I were to get another rug like this I would buy a pad to go under it. I get plenty of compliments on this rug, though.

Ages okay So I've had this rug for 2 1/2 years now and it is aging okay. I have 2 boys and a cat and a dog so over all it's doing pretty good. My only complaint is in in front of the couch and the chair where we sit the most is grungy looking and shows the wear even after cleaning. But over all I'm satisfied as I love the rug and it works great in the space i bought it for.

The low is tightly looped I'm not sure its Berber but looks like it. I have a dog and he likes to lay on it, but Not Allowed to so there hasn't been an issue. I have the carpet in my dining room and it looks really nice and feels soft to walk on. I vacuum it on a high pile setting. back to the pet issue a pets claw could get caught in it.

It is a nice, soft plush pile. It stands up though...not droopy like shag. The darker parts (taupe) are looped. I have gotten more compliments on this rug than I have on the really expensive ones I have in other parts of the house.

The low part is definitely looped. They are small loops but loops nonetheless. I have a dog and she has not caught her toe nails in the loops but she is a large dog. Just as a matter of info; this rug is beautiful but a real pain in the neck to vacuum if you don't have an automatically adjusting roller head on your vacuum.

I was pleasantly surprised. It's a very substantial full thick shag (with the sculpted pattern throughout) but not the hideous tall shag like from the 70's. We've had ours in the room we and our big dogs LIVE on for 10 months and it's held up wonderfully. It sounds like it's just what you're looking for. I would love to have found a pretty gold carpet, but looked everywhere, and could not find a complimentary color. My hardwood is a medium brown and my curtains are taupe and it goes extremely well in my living room. The rug is beautiful and very soft to walk on. This is a very neutral, pastel rug and would be a distasteful against a vibrant primary colored plaid. My home is a coastal cottage, a brand new house decorated in a lot of white. Well, I ordered the rug thinking I would have to put it in the guest bedroom, but NO! It looks fantastic. I have a red wall with the plaid curtains on each side of a white fireplace, and the rug is just stunning!!! I LOVE IT!!!!! I actually have a very large room & I purchased two of these rugs. I put a round one under a table and chairs set & the 8x10 rug in the seating area. I think that rugs begin to look like carpets if they are too big. I put these in a tiled area but think they would look great on hardwood too. The tiles are nice & I like the fact that they don't simply get lost under a rug.

I personally think it would be tricky to move a chair around on the carpet - the pile is extremely high which is great for a bedroom or living room because it feels so nice on your feet and fluffy. But I feel like it would be annoying to push a chair back and forth in it. The chair wouldn't slide - you would have to pick the chair up and you would probably make dents in the carpet, over time, pushing it in and out from the table.
