Perfect size I needed a rug for under a square dining room table (yes, round rug with a square table!). This is just the right size - allows chairs to remain on the rug at all times since it is bigger than the normal 6 feet, but does not overwhelm the room. I wouldn't put down shag in a well used room, but it works well for the dining room.

Exceeds expectations The rug has a lovely color, and the higher pile areas are even nicer than anticipated. This has a VERY soft feel under the feet -perfect if you spend hours standing and working or relaxing in your livingroom - I do both! The rug invites stretching out on the floor, meditating, or just enjoying the atmosphere. It arrived in fine shape and quickly. I unrolled it and did a quick vacuum in order to bring up any bits of 'rug shedding' - there was some, but not much. The rug did need to be 'aired out' for an afternoon, as there was a bit of a smell, but to be expected for a tightly rolled rug. It is fine now and has no residual smell. I can see it will need to be kept up so that any shedding will be vacuumed - perhaps 1x or 2x a week a 'quick once-over' with a carpet roller or lightweight vacuum. I am very impressed with the product- exceeds expectations. Verified purchaser.

You should decide how large you need your rug, based upon the room size. You can search online and get "guidelines". If you are wanting to know how the rug is measured, I ordered this rug and the best way I can describe for you is that if you folded the rug in half, forming a semi-circle, then the straight edge would be the diameter of 6 feet 7 inches, so if you measure directly across the center, this is your measurement. If you need the circumference, you should multiply x 3.14.

Roll it up tight, shag on inside. Then put tape around it in three equally spaced places. Shipping tape works great. Use 2 extra large trash bags - put one on each end and overlap, then wrap tight as possible. Finish by taping the bags in place. It's quick and easy to do. it mimics how it was sent to you. Rugs don't break and are rarely damaged by shipping. Hope this helps.

IThe pile of this rug is what I would describe as a creamy off-white and the pattern area a taupe/tan I really don't see any reason why it wouldn't go with your chair. I love this rug in fact I have a couple of them hope this helps.
