"When I buy a 6 x 10, is it 6 x 10 or is it sized for a rug that is 6 x 10?"
Was not impressed with the shape or size of this rug pad. I bought it to use under an oval area rug of the same size. It needed much adjusting to make it work, so I just returned it.

DO NOT buy this rug pad
When I unrolled the rug pad, little rubber shavings were falling off all over on my hardwood floors. The rubber is a really low quality and flakes off everywhere, what a mess. Rolled it right back up and now have to go through the trouble of returning it. Took me almost an hour to clean up all the rubber flakes, and couldn't get a lot of it out as it settled down into the cracks on my hardwood floor. Learn from my mistake, do not buy this pad. After this experience, I would not buy any of the Rotell brand rug pads.

Exactly what I needed
I purchased this pad to go with the rug I purchased, and looked for one that wasn't very expensive, frankly. This one has some grip on the back so the rug doesn't slide, and also is thick enough to give the rug some nice padding, comfy enough to lay on the floor, for a change! I would recommend it and definitely buy another one, for the runner I have on my wish list!

Love this rug pad. I was skeptical when ordering because I had not bought this type of rug pad previously. I have purchased several different types in the past and never found one I was happy with. The Rotell rug pad works very well; one side is rubber and the other side is felt. The rubber side prevents the rug from slipping or bunching up on hardwood floors. The felt side fits next to the bottom of the rug. I have been well pleased. Even my husband commented on how well the pad works. It is the best one we have ever purchased. And the price is affordable. I will purchase more of these when needed.

The width of this pad is about 6 inches short of 6 feet so I've got slippery edges where there's no mat between the rug and the floor. It is very thin as well - no padding at all, just non slip where it reaches. I am disappointed in this purchase.

Yes but it also depends on the weight of your rug. This is in the hallway with a 1" wool rug on top so it stays put even with two big dogs and frequent vacuuming. . I might have to readjust every couple of months.
