My wife and I finally thought we had found the counter stools we wanted after months of searching, trying, and not falling in love with countless other types/designs. We were drawn to the driftwood weathered look of the legs combined with the sophisticated dark gray/nailhead cushion. Unfortunately, upon arrival, our cautious optimism turned into massive disappointment. None of the reviews really emphasize this, but the legs are considerably darker in person. Like near espresso color with a light whitewash in the grooves of the wood. The legs on our chairs were darker than the already dark charcoal upholstery, if you can believe that by looking at the picture. We were convinced the packaging team had mistakenly packed the 'coffee' version of the chair found on Great Offer Stock. They looked nearly identical to the pictures shown for that model if someone wants a more accurate idea of real life color. Nowhere close to the smokey bleached driftwood we had hoped for. Great Offer Stock was great about returns, but the whole experience was no doubt frustrating. Maybe we got a bad batch, but the SKUs were right and we really didn't want to go through the same hassle twice. Just be prepared for a MUCH darker chair if you like the look.
I bought 4 of this stools for my newly redecorated kitchen and I love them. It is hard to find 26 inch high counter stools and these fit perfectly at my kitchen island.
These beautiful stools are as pictured. The distressed wood is impressive and perfect for my beach house. I got the grey, which are a dark charcoal and have the effect of 100 year old stools that were just reupholstered. I am not a fan of the bright silver nail heads, but get the beige and the nail heads will not be as noticeable. Contrary to what is posted, assembly is definitely required. I highly recommend wood glue as an addition to your assembly to add stability. Read other reviews. Whatever extra work is required for assembly is more than worth it. I glued in the sides which i think helped a great deal. The kit is good and inclusive. The plastic bottoms on the feet would scuff my driftwood grey floors, so I bought a runner rug for under my counter bar, perfect! These stools were sold out and I had to wait for them to be restocked. Love them and would purchase then again. I shopped all over for stools, none were near this design or price. I am very satisfied.
While the counter stools are the right height and of nice quality, the picture does not show the colors precisely... the seats are pretty much the color you see in the picture, however, the wood is much darker! I was expecting the wood to look more like the reclaimed wood/blonde variation and unfortunately it was closer to brown (a couple shades lighter than espresso brown)...
Good quality. The weathered wood was exactly what I was looking for. The fabric on the seats is more brown than grey as it appears in pictures. Assembly was fairly easy. I am hoping to buy matching chairs when they are in stock again
I looked at literally hundreds of stools on multiple websites before settling on these for the kitchen island in my new house. While they cost a bit more than I was hoping to pay, they are definitely worth it. They are well made: very solid and comfortable to sit on; it seems like they will hold up well to lots of use, expecially since the rustic wood finish will accommodate any scratches and shoe scuffing. The design (wood stain, fabric color, etc.) is very attractive: not only do the stools coordinate perfectly with my kitchen, but they are likely to go well in many other environments, as the style is is fairly traditional and the overall color effect comes off as pretty neutral (gray fabric seat and wood stain that is a mix of gray, light brown and a bit of whitewash). I'm not at all handy, but the stools were easy to put together, as the directions were very clear. I do recommend not tightening the screws, etc., too much before sitting on the stool for a bit to make sure the stool settles so the legs are all even on the floor, etc., before doing the final tightening.
I matched these with Overstock's transitional two-tone sofa table. The color is a great driftwood gray, easy to put together but does take organization and about an hour or so depending on your ability to assemble. They come separated in the box so you can put one stool together with its designated pieces, very convenient, especially if you only have time to do one and then come back to finish. They are comfortable and sturdy. Compliments my gray, cream, and blue decor wonderfully. The sofa table I paired them with matches quite well. I would really like to take about an inch off the bottom to give more room between my legs and the table. We use this in front of a large picture window to sit and watch the wildlife out the back. Great setup also if you have a small space to dine. The gray seat is nicely cushioned and comfortable. Very sturdy. One tip is to replace the bottom plastic piece on the legs, and replace with felt if you have hardwood floors. The plastic piece can be removed with a little leverage from a screwdriver. Easy way to save from scratching the floor. It would be fine on carpet.
These brown and grey counter stools are beautiful! These look perfect in my home. I am very happy with these stools. They are very comfortable!
See my review of the Renate Grey Dining Chairs that coordinate with these counter stools. I love them!
These little stools were mighty and stylish. I loved the fact that they had an interesting weathered finish. They stood out casually against my navy island vs a black or dark brown finish. I have had them 5 years. My husband and I gave them HEAVY use. He's 295 and that end of the bar was his spot. I had 4 stools that I rotated around to spread the wear and tear. 2 times over 5 years I tightened the screws and initially, I put wood glue in any hole I could when I assembled them. The fabric on the cushions held up beautifully and the foam was still full after daily use. I put felt pads on the legs because they were starting to scratch my wood, but that wasn't the stools fault. We just really used them alot. Definitely worth the money.
I wish someone would have mentioned that the Renata Grey Counter stools are NOT grey. The wood has a grayish tone but the cushion is definitely not grey. It is dark BROWN, totally not the same pallet that is shown on the photos. Just a warning for those who expect "Grey".
I absolutely love our new counter stools! I bought four for our kitchen island and they are gorgeous and quite comfortable. The color of the fabric is a darker gray than it appears on my screen, but it's a beautiful color, and pretty neutral-although it does lean toward a blue or slate gray rather than a beige gray. The wood is a pickled medium brown, darker than it appears on my screen as well. It's very unique, and gives the stools a very interesting look. The nailhead trim really makes them stand out. They were a tad bit challenging to put together. I would suggest waiting to tighten anything until all screws are in. That way you can adjust as needed. Overall, these are really great stools and are an excellent value. I would highly recommend them!
I bought two sets of these and they fit lovely under my island. Love the color and style. They are small little stools, so if you are looking for a "big seat" then you might want to pass these up, because they are petite; which because of that, I was able to get two under the island on each side. They look great in my gray and white kitchen.
After reading all the reviews I agree that the wood is a light brown with some white wash in the wood grooves but that's what I wanted. The seat color is a dark grey some could say brown it depends on the lighting again I love they way they look under my kitchen island. I would recommend. There is a smell but it does disapate, everyday I sprayed febreeze and it worked. For the price well worth it!
I am very happy with the quality of these counter stools. The fabric is darker in person than it appears in the website photo. Photos in some of the product reviews are a closer match to the fabric color I received. I looked at counter stools in high end catalogs and I feel like these are probably just as well made at a fraction of the price.
These stools have a cool blend of weathered reclaimed wood and gray linen with nailheads. I had my handyman assemble them so they are nice and sturdy and look great with my White Island and charcoal grey cabinetry. The color is pretty true to the picture.
Be aware that as some previous reviews stated - the color of the legs is MUCH darker... fortunately I have dark wood floors and it looked great. The pic looks very light - they are very dark. The fabric looks more of brownish than blue. I struggle to see the blue on the top. I was surprised that it came in so many pieces - each stool has 9 pieces to put together. I got them together easily but they legs are not even and both rock. I have tried adjusting but with that may pieces and screws its impossible. I think they look great but the quality is much less than I expected. I do not see these lasting very long.
These stools are perfect in my kitchen. I used them to replace stools with backs and I am so happy with my purchase. They really open up the space. They are comfortable, fashionable and easy to assemble. They are very close to the picture shown. The wood is a little darker than it appears but it works perfect in my space. As long as you read the description and the dimensions, you will get exactly what you expect or better. Love them and would highly recommend.
Very comfortable . Perfect counter stools!
Great barstools especially for the price. These are exactly as pictured. The finish is a darker grey wash wood which goes with a variety of finishes.
