Boy did I feel like an idiot when this arrived. The twin XL mattress in my college dorm room had more consistency than this. The time and money it would have taken to return it were simply not on my side, so back to the grind I went. I bought an admittedly 'cheap' mattress and box spring from a warehouse store, and put this faux-mattress on top for comfort. *** later, I could have just bought a semi decent mattress set, but again, time was not on my side. I would truly like to know in what part of the world (perhaps in a third world country) this can be considered an actual mattress. What a waste

No odd smell. We didn't smell anything. Not as thick as we thought it would be but it was extremely comfortable and my sister slept on it the first night we got it - she said it was the best nights sleep she's had in a long time. Very happy with this purchase.

This mattras for this amazing price is such a great deal and highly recommended. If you add a 1 inch super soft memory form topper it becines the best besnI have ever alept in by far. You will defnlove th:is! I highly recommend it!

I was a little worried about it being memory foam and it just keeping the shape of our bodies but, wow I actually like it.

I sleep like A FRICKIN BABY

Purchased this mattress for my parents. They needed a mattress that was not as deep so they could get in and out easily. My father has balance issues and trying to get into bed on a stool was very hard. They needed a firm mattress but one that would have some give. This is perfect for them. We let it sit for 3 days before using it...there was no odor and it plumped up without a problem. Can't beat the price for something that works!

I'm still getting used to my new mattress. I was used to sleeping on a mattress that didn't transfer movement so that's the same. And I was used to sleeping with a 3" foam pad on the top on my mattress, so the comfort is the same, kind of. This mattress is lower because the old one was 10" plus the 3" of foam. But the sensation when you sit on the mattress I can only describe as, well, dead. I don't know if that's a bad thing. It's like sitting on a soft rock. It doesn't give or react or anything. It's very strange. I'm not sleeping any better or worse.

I was pleasantly suprised as to how comfortable this mattress is. I sleep deeper and longer because of this mattress. I have year round indoor and outdoor allergies, so I must be careful with what I buy to ensure it doesn't irritate my allergies or asthma. This mattress only has one downside, it traps heat. If you use a comforter on your bed, with this mattress, your body heat will quickly cause you to feel hot and it only gets worse throughout the night. I recommend the use of a light blanket that breaths to help with this issue. Other than that, I am very happy with my purchase. It has NO bad smell (sometimes such items arrive with a musty smell), it unrolled easily and became flat instantly, and fits perfectly on my queen (i got a queen size) frame. The packaging is kind of intense, it protects properly so im not complaining, but it was a workout to get this out of the box/plastic and unfold it.

This is very comfortable for my tall son.

It's not super soft kind due to the thickness but very comfy.

Is workable for a decent place to sleep for a few days. Had it sent to my son's new residence out of state, as he only has one bed at present. Right now it sits on the floor. The price was right--much less than the cost of a motel room, even for only 3 nights. Once he purchases a bed frame to put it on, it will make a nice guest bed for our future visits and of friends and other family members who will visit.

My back and body are very sore. Poor choice.

If you want more comfort obviously ordering a thicker mattress is this answer. For this size, it's been extremely durable.
