Quality Sofa For the Price This is the first time we have purchased a large piece of furniture online and because there were no reviews on this sofa, we were very hesitant but were in dire need of new furniture and the price was right. It was challenging to pick a color from the online images due to the fact that the colors and textures weren't truly depicted but we took a chance on two mink grey velvet sofas. We were pleasantly surprised that the order arrived one day ahead of schedule with everything intact. The furniture arrived in several pieces but was packed precisely and well protected. Each piece was very durable and well made. The cushions were packed individually in sealed, compressed plastic. An allen wrench was the only tool needed to put this furniture together and bolts came pre-attached to furniture. With that said, assembly was not as fast as claimed in video description, especially since the assembly instructions on the first sofa box we opened were packed at the bottom within the last wrapped piece. By this time we had already began assembly ourself but learned that we missed some steps and had to go back several steps. On the second sofa, the instructions were right at the top (go figure) but by then we had mastered assembly. The slipcovers were packed separately from the sofa itself. At first glance, they appeared to almost have a greenish, olive tint but then in different light they appeared more of a dark silver, almost charcoal color with a definite sheen which I wasn't too sure of but the feel of the fabric was exquisite (very smooth and plush). There is one slipcover piece that covers the backrest, bottom, and armrests of the sofa and individual, zipped covers for each cushion (3 seat cushions and 3 back cushions). Putting the slipcover on for the first time was a challenge since the underside is covered in velcro and tends to stick to every portion of the sofa as it is being put on but once on, fits nicely and stays securely in place due to the velcro holding it in place. The seat cushion covers slip on easily and fit well. The back cushions I had a harder time with since the cushions are much thinner and not as supportive making for a looser fit. We did find the back cushions a bit flimsy and in need of more support which would also help for a better fit on the back cushions but I think the thinner cushion adds a more relaxed, casual look to the sofa. I will be purchasing some upholstery foam to wrap around the back cushions for more support but only because we prefer extra support. The seat cushion support is perfect. Not to firm not too soft. All in all, this is a nice, roomy, comfortable sofa for the price and definitely looks like a higher end piece. Although we weren't too sure of the color at first, it is growing on us. I never considered myself the "velvet" type but I think it lends a bit of elegance to an otherwise casual sofa. We are very pleased with our purchase. Now it's time to accessorize!
