Fairly thin, but I bought a 3/8 inch felt pad to put under it so it isn't a problem. Not the softest rug I've ever had, but not scratchy either. Overall happy with the purchase, the shipping was really fast!

If I hadn't had company coming that next day I would have returned unopened. The rug design and colors are exactly as I wanted, the quality however is just sorry. The description says 1/2" pile... It is not even close. It's as thin or thinner than a flatweave outdoor rug. So disappointed, as I'd said- I love the design and colors.
