I'll start with the good: these nightstands are beautiful. The photos are accurate, and they are a good size. They arrive already assembled (you just have to screw on the legs) and much of the nightstand is made from actual wood — only a few of the pieces are particle board.
Here's the bad news: even though they are packaged very well for shipping, the likelihood that they'll arrive with at least minor damage is high. I'm in the midst of moving and purchasing new furniture for the house, and I've noticed a trend among all of the wood furniture I've ordered, regardless of vendor: it all arrives with some kind of minor chipping somewhere. These nightstands were no exception - some minor chipping on the top corner of one, where the light wood beneath the espresso veneer is now visible. On the other nightstand, the chipping is below where the drawer rail is. The drawer rail on that nightstand also came off, so I had to reattach it. I bought an espresso wood stain pen to cover the damage, but for the second nightstand, the missing bit is large enough that I will probably purchase some wood putty to fill it in as well.
Additionally, the drawers for these only have one rail each, which is in the center. This doesn't seem to be an issue for the top drawer, but on the bottom drawer it means the drawer is always crooked unless I take the time to center it each time I close the drawer. I plan to purchase 2 additional wood pieces for each drawer so they'll be even on both sides without having to balance the drawer on the center rail each time I close it.
The nightstands are would be a pain in the neck to ship back, and they do look very nice aside from the damage, which is why I'm not returning them. However, if you've never purchase wood furniture online before, I'd implore you to think twice about it. I've noticed damage like this on nearly every piece of wood furniture I've ordered in the past few weeks, regardless of where it was ordered from (this isn't just an Great Offer Stock issue), who the manufacturer was, and whether the piece was real wood or particle board. Wood furniture seems to be a high risk item to ship, even when it's packed well. I'd advise shopping a local furniture store instead, and save the online purchases for upholstered pieces such as beds, ottomans, and benches. I've had much better luck with those when it comes to shipping without damage.
