This murphy bed fit perfectly in our 2nd unused guest bedroom. The murphy bed mechanism works with very little effort. The assembly took most of 2 days. A second set of hands make the assembly much easier. I do wish that this product would have been available in black. The grey bark is not as good looking as I had hoped by the pictures. I think the white option may have been a richer look when completed.

We purchased the bark gray and white model. Very good-looking combination. Obviously a complex assembly process, but well worth it (took 3 days to complete). One deviation from the instructions which my husband did was attach a 1 x 4 piece of lumber to the wall behind the bed and storage piers to which he then attached the wall bed INSTEAD of cutting the baseboard. This worked out quite well to secure unit to wall and provided clearance for cords, electrical outlet, and plug on wall behind it. Also added 3 hockey puck LED light kit to top inside horizontal piece of wall bed, along with a remote control light switch. I found that medium gray craft paint PERFECTLY concealed any incidental dings which occurred during handling of components. Highly recommend if you need a dual purpose room. Many boxes, very heavy, but well worth the effort.

I owned this wall bed for two years and in that time it served me well. We used this as a guest bed in our den and it was convenient to fold away when we didn't have visitors. We used a memory foam bed in a box mattress with the frame and our guests found the bed to be quite comfortable. The bed does look nice, the veneer on it is very aesthetically pleasing. However... It is only a veneer. The major drawback to this bed is that it is made from particle board, an inherently weak material. It is not meant to hold something as heavy as this bed frame. Further, once the bed frame is built it pretty much can't be moved or it will break. We found this out the hard way when we moved to a new house and tried to take the bed with us. The movers we hired were very professional and careful, but this frame ended up breaking all the same. Bottom line, if you buy this piece of furniture realized that the material is shoddy and once built you can't move it without serious risk of breaking it. I would not buy this wall bed again.

The quality of the bed seems good but time will tell. Assembly was difficult and had to hire someone to secure it to the wall but if you're handy enough you might be able to install it yourself. All in all I'm happy with the purchase and I'm even happier that it saves a lot of space in the room.
