My eyes watered and burned Until we put out in garage. No chemical odor noticed, but hour or so later eyes started burning and tearing. Does seem like the thickness will work well. But when cut at the factory, it was not cut evenly. Not realizing that at first, we cut off almost 12 inches. In placing the rug on it, we discovered one side was 83 inches, the middle 85 inches and the other side 84, which was the side we made out 12 inches off of. So, we will cut it now to 83 inches in order for the rug to lay on it with all sides of the pad covered. The rubber back surface might possibly prevent liquid spills from going through tonthe floor. I like the pad other than the seemingly odorless emissions burning eyes. Hubby's eyes didnt burn, so this may not affect everyone. Will leave in garage tonsor out. Hoping whatever it is will dissipate. Fast shipment as always.

Nice padding, but the rug slides off. The padding provides a nice cushion, but the carpet always slips off the pad. I would not purchase this product again.

Great pad for my two runners! Love the pads. Wanted them to match my 10 X 14 rug pad, however, my runners were 2 X 9. I had to piece a few strips trimmed from my big pad, to the ends of the runners to make it long enough. A little duct tape and all is well! Very satisfied.

Rug pad. This is quite a thick rug pad. Our shepherd mix has just planted herself on the rug with the thick pad underneath, and has shown a preference for it over all of the dog beds in the house (we have several)! I thought we would end up tripping over the rugs with the thick pads because we are not used to a thick pad, but so far we're good. They would be difficult to cut/resize.
