After reading all the other reviews I purchased this expecting it to show up half broken and told everyone to cross their fingers as I opened the box. I am happy to say that it arrived in perfect condition and was packaged very nicely. Yes, it is all metal but I don’t feel that the “rays” are any more flimsy then you would expect an item with this design to be. Any thicker and the weight would have been to much. I was able to easily hang this piece by myself (I’m a 5’ girl) using a step stool, measuring tape, pencil and a drill. Once I realized holding it by the mirror itself vs. the rays and allowing my fingerprints to get all over it (as another reviewer suggested), I was able to move it around the wall just fine. The “broken tips” mentioned in another review are every other tip and meant to be part of the design. The finish is uneven and multi colors just as the picture shows. It is more copper then any other color. The photo shows a yellowish in the center and it gets darker as it spans out…. that is not the case with mine. Mine is mostly copper and its possible each one could be a bit different due to the unique colors and how its made. Came with screws and anchors. Has only one hang hole so it’s easy to get it right the first time. The only thing that surprised me about this piece is that the rays shoot out and then there’s a hump and back down and out (think of a roller coaster hill.. you go up and then back down). The best place on the photo to see this is at the 3 o’clock position, that ray represents it best. I knew it wasn’t flat but I was a bit surprised by the size of the bumps. When I had it laying on the floor it reminded me of spider legs lol. A side view of it would be extremely helpful when deciding to purchase or not and it surprises me they don’t show one. Cost vs. Quality I think depends on your location within the US, I live in a Grand Rapids, MI and One Hundred Dollars for this item is a fantastic price! I could have easily spent much more on something similar at a local retailer. It is rustic.. maybe a little edgy and definitely creative but I would never describe it as flea market. However, everyone has a different opinion, as we should. I placed this above my fireplace in a room with 8’ ceilings. There is an approximate clearance of 5” on the top and 5” on the bottom. It’s the perfect size for this space.
