I was pretty spoiled with my Serta Perfect Night mattress which was one of those marked down from *** for a queen. That is now in a guest room and I have this for my new house, new room, new bed frame etc. I got the firmest available knowing that "firm" in a foam is usually never too firm. I was right, it still has a soft layer that gives just enough to be comfortable, but firm enough to support. The only issue I have with any foam mattress is the lack of side support if you use the bed to sit at the edge when putting on shoes. You'll tend to sink down a bit as opposed to a spring type mattress. Small compromise. As for all of you worried about smell, well it does smell for the first month maybe. The first couple weeks is the strongest, but it eventually just goes away completely. It might even take a full 6 weeks to go away completely, but you keep a mattress for several years, so it's a very small price to pay. The initial smell isn't even that bad, so I stay with the 5-Stars!
