Dont kid yourself. If you are expecting the equivalent of a $2000 suede chair you will be very disappointed. However if you acknowledge reality based on the price of this chair you will be extremely pleased. Unless you are quite close it actually does look like distressed leather/suede. It is better in person than the pictures. Everyone who has seen it in my living room has adored it and/or been immediately jealous that they don't have one just like it. It is in my living room to complement a burnt-orange velvet vintage Ethan Allen wingback. I am in my 30s and my style and taste are much more expensive than my budget so until I can afford brand new Stickley this will have to do (and it does pretty well). 4 not 5 stars because its a bit more for show than it is a 'comfy, cozy, arm chair.' Its quite firm and not really plush at all. Frankly it would make a phenomenal end dining table chair if you have the space and a grand table that could use something more than your standard sometimes boring all matching wood dining room chairs. That will be the next home for my chair once I upgrade again one day.
