Like it Our den is a bit dark and while I am watching TV I like to crochet, thumb through a magazine, etc. Ordered this light so I can turn it on and not disturb everyone else in the room who does not need a bright light.

Nice lamp I ordered silver and this lamp was exactly what I needed... flexible and low profile with a fairly small base. I like the look of it and it works for the space I have. It is a bit cheap/plasticy looking but not bad at all

Switch is behind me Very nice lamp with ample lighting. Shipped very well. This was to go between our chairs. It is cumbersome to try to reach the switch from my seated position. The length from switch to front of dome light is 18 inches. If I want light on my book, the light needs to be where I am reading but to reach the switch is impossible if I sit it back where the light should be. We have moved it forward in order to reach the switch but do not like where the light is for my reading area.

Everett This is a great little lamp for the money. Simple straight forward design. It is not what I would call a "reading" lamp, although it's what I use it for and it works fine for that. The reason I say that is it is very bright! Almost too bright, and there's no way to dim it down. That's the main reason I've given it a 4 star rating. It is excellent as task lighting, for hobbyists or crafts persons who need a concentrated bright light on a work item. Someone who nits, or does bead-work, as an example. I bought a second lamp to use in my woodworking shop. I focus it on my table saw and it works great! Easy to move from tool to tool, too. Another shortcoming is the set-screw the lap uses to affix the two segments of the poles together. I've bought 3 of these lamps and have yet to find one! Fortunately, my shop has plenty of these orphan screws, so, I had no problem substituting.

Bright Efficient Lamp I bought this lamp to use as a reading light in an area where I didn't want to disturb others in the room. It focuses a bright light directly where I want it, without casting a wide halo. The light is perfect for me to read by, it is easy to adjust in two places, and the light is bright enough to read or do detailed work. There is a small amount of assembly, but it was very easy, and required just a screwdriver. The one drawback I see is that the light does get warm over time and could be uncomfortable if you touch it accidentally. It also looks like the bulb would be hard to change, but the promised bulb life is 10,000 hours so I don't anticipate changing it any time soon.
