Great piece with bad hardware I hate giving this only three stars. It looked elegant, I could tell the wood was good quality, the finish was great... but I couldn't get the thing to stay together. This nightstand is fastened together with cam locks and dowels, but the cam locks are so cheap that they worked themselves loose before I had even finished assembling the thing. The instructions don't tell you to glue the dowels, but it goes without saying that you have to, since they are the ONLY things keeping the nightstand together once the cam locks pop out. It's a beautiful piece, but if you do succeed in getting it together, I recommend building it in the spot you want it and never moving it.

Time Consuming, Some Rough Wood on One Side For the money, the quality of the materials used in these nightstands is not too bad and they do look nice once together. My husband is an extremely handy person (carpentry, IT, cars, etc.), but it still took a good bit of time and patience to get these together. Also, one on the nightstands has a very rough section, approximately 8-10 inches long, on the top right piece of molding. It is not so much an aesthetic problem (the dark stain seems to hide the anomaly/defect), however it does catch on any fabric that comes in contact with it, so we need to have the defective side away from the bed so it doesn't catch the comforter, blanket or sheets. And because it took so much time to put these together, taking the one apart to return it does not seem like an option. We will keep them for now, but will most likely need to replace both at some point.
