Color is subjective and may appear differently based on monitor settings. In my opinion the dark grey is a true dark grey with different color fibers running through it. I would not describe it as brown.

I purchased the regular bed frame and it came with 3 slats and legs that screw into the slats. The boards look like they wouldn't support well but surprisingly do. I have a box spring and thick mattress and the bed has been really sturdy. I love this bed. I've had it for about 2 months and no problems!

"Does this bed have scotch guard fabric? How do you clean this??"

It doesn't. But it's a bed...not sure how dirty it will get. I vacuum mine when I vacuum my bedroom as I have a black cat. I would imagine using a woolite upholstery cleaner and blotting with a clean ragusa would suffice. It's a beautiful piece I get loads of compliments on. Not as heavy duty as the Pottery Barnes but at less than a 1/3 the price....who's going to complain...certainly not me!
