very suitable Easy to assemble and very spacious. It can hold 3 cases of 24 - 16 oz. water bottles on lower shelf, three medium size vegetable bins on upper shelf and has a lot of countertop space. The unit is very sturdy, though you might want to be gentle when using the drawer. I'm very happy with it and my neighbor wants to get one.

Terrific Value. Love this versatile item I was really surprised when I opened this up. I was expecting a wood top and metal legs, a utilitarian piece of furniture. It is all wood - and not pressboard. The top is a nice 3/4" solid wood piece and very heavy. My guess is birch. The legs are painted a soft white, just a touch of cream but would also work in an all-white setting. The legs and slat shelves are a softer wood, probably pine. My son put it together in 30 minutes. I am using it as shelving for my sewing room and the top is doubling as a cutting surface. Each shelf has plenty of space for baskets or storage crates. Each shelf is storing bins of fabric, probably 20 lbs on each shelf, and I'm sure I could add more weight. I did not use the drawer, it could hold silverware or knives I suppose. The only metal pieces were screws, drawer slides, chrome finish towel rack and drawer handle.

Very Well Made I absolutely love this product. The top drawer is a little out of alignment but it's really not a big deal. It's very stable and really gives the extra counter space/ storage I need for my little kitchen!

The slats themselves are 1 3/4 inches wide with a 3/4 inch space between each slat. I store my rice cooker and crock pot on mine without a problem . Hope this helps.

I needed an island to match an urban modern decor with an affordable cost. There seems to be lack of choices in this category from all sellers. I have been searching for quite a while and decided that i had to get a little creative. This island is not what I had in mind but will work with a few modifications until I can find what I'm looking for. I plan to paint the white wood areas and add a different top surface. I suggest that you consider looking into stocking more modern items in affordable prices to fill this void. In my opinion, affordable would be $200 - $500 for a comparable piece.
