I love this bed - I saw a very similar bed at **** for twice the price (plus another *** to ship it!) and then saw this. I assembled it myself - I am a woman who has assembled things before, but nothing like this, and I was able to do it with just a screwdriver and the tools provided. There was one spot where I could see it being much easier with two people, but you can figure it out if you're on your own. The whole thing took me under two hours, and I take my time. I did need help getting the boxes upstairs, since it comes in 3 very heavy boxes, but once the boxes were in the right room I was all set. It's very sturdy, and I was impressed with the slats - there's one about every four inches - as well as the "platform boards" that go on top of the slats to make it a solid flat surface. I am using the trundle to store a comforter and other linens for the bed since I put this in a guest room and don't really need two beds in there. The trundle rolls out easily. The bed's color is not a bright white, but more of a soft white and it's easy to decorate around. I did kind of a "shabby chic" look in the room and the bed is fine with it even though it's not a distressed style. I can't think what else would be helpful to know - it's a great piece and I'd buy it again!
