I would go for the square version as i always have issues with these in wind...

The base has peeled and lost all of it's color after not even a year of use.

The umbrella base was just wanted I wanted. Color, quality & weight seems perfect. Wanted it for periods when weather gets windy. This will do the trick.

This base goes perfectly with wooden poled umbrellas and looks very expensive. I haven't left it out in the weather (house is by the beach), but I have high hopes. Heavy enough to leave it out in the rain and wind with umbrella in it. Doesn't look like it can rust at all, either. Highly recommended.
