As many other reviewers have noted, I was really interested in purchasing a higher end Parsons table that I initially viewed on a popular interior design/home decorating site. I wanted the same look & style, but for less; AND with above average quality. This desk met and exceeded my expectations. I was surprised at how sturdy and heavy it is. It arrived in pristine condition and was very easy to assemble (just attach the 4-legs). Unlike the complaints of some reviewers, I found that the pull-out drawers extended out far enough for me. For those that desire the silk-like smoothness of drawers that pull out on rollers, this desk is not for you. HOWEVER, the fact that the drawers are not on rollers didn't bother me in the least and the drawers pull out easily and smoothly. The finish is VERY nice. It is a SEMI-gloss finish (not HIGH gloss), which some reviewers wanted. I use this in my home office for my printer, office phone, stapler, and post-it-note cube.
