"The description on the website and the instructions describe a desk that attaches to the back of the bed (perpendicular to the dresser) and there's also drill holes where a flat piece of wood would go. However, the photos don't show as a desk, nor was there a piece for a desk in the delivery. Is there a piece missing? Is the description wrong? Is there another version of the bed that does come with the piece for the desk?"
First off, this thing is huge. It comes in 4 separate boxes and weighs a total of about 350 lbs. It will most likely require 2 people to set up, mainly because of the size of some of the components. That being said, a lot of the components, such as the dresser, are already put together. This makes assembly very straightforward and simple overall. Once built, the bed does feel very sturdy, and the hardware supplied attests to that, but the outer finish of this product is some sort of engineered plastic/wood hybrid. However, that wasn’t a big deal for me and the bed does look phenomenal in our son’s room.

This full loft bed is great. Sturdy. I definitely recommend getting a hex tool set for your electric drill to put this together. It took a very long time to put together using manual tools. My son loves it and I'm happy with the extra space.
