I was kind of bummed that the base piece was damaged in shipping, but I contacted the manufacturer and they sent a replacement out within just a couple days at no cost to me. Instructions could be more clear, I had to reverse course about halfway through assembly because the instructions led me to attach the base to the top in the wrong orientation. Also, I don't think pilot holes were made to screw in the back cover pieces. Took me about 2 hours in total to assemble, but I worked slowly so I wouldn't break any pieces. Overall, i'm pleased with this TV stand. I get a lot of compliments on this piece, guests love the color of the door panels and the hardware for opening them.
