These are very sturdy, super comfortable and easy to assemble- my 11 year old grandson put them together for me. Unfortunately I’m returning them because though they do measure almost 17” high, the cushions are so ‘squishy’ one sinks a good three inches when seated. Since I needed them for seating at my dining table they just didn’t work. They’d be great at the foot of a bed or at an entryway

Love this bench in my breakfast nook. It fits right under the table so wit takes up no extra space. It is comfortable and very versatile, we also move it to the family room for extra seating.

It is cushiony. true. too cushiony? no. The thing that would stop me from using it with a tray, is the roundness of the top. The piece is not cushiony enough to let the round top hold a tray well. I would get a bench that was flatter on the top. this one will have it all sliding around too much.
