We have this rug on a screened-in front porch and have no problems vacuuming or taking it outside to hose off. The colors stay true and it has a lot of usage as you go out of the sliding door onto the porch, then outside to the lake. We have 2 rockers sitting on it and they are not a problem for this rug. We love this rug!! Enjoy.

This rug will be fine to use in the inside or out. It is woven with carpet and will be comfortable in a children room.

If using indoors with kids I would recommend an underpad for cushioning. Rug is not a deep pile (although a bit more plush than the classic kid activity rugs) and the rugback is woven not nonslip. While the rug is bright and the pattern joyful, the red is really much more brick red than the more vibrant red that appears on monitor. I picked up the bright green, orange and aqua blue for accents and overall it creates a happy space.
