The buffet arrived in four heavy packages, very well packaged and nothing was damaged. All of the parts and pieces were there and labeled well. The buffet is darker than the color shown online, there is no reddish tinge to the wood it is more of a walnut color, but still beautiful. Putting it together took my husband and I a whopping 6 hours. It was heavy, cumbersome and the instructions were not always clear. Some of the locking nuts did not work properly, and there were areas where either there were no pre-drilled holes to accept screws or the holes would not line up properly. They also give you these ugly tan things to cover up the locking nuts but we skipped that step since all of them are located inside the piece or get covered up. Pointless. Once assembled, only one drawer closes smoothly, the rest "catch" and you have to slam them closed. Not great. However, after the 6 hour nightmare of assembling this ourselves was over we are very happy with it. We'll use the sticky drawers to store things that are not fragile/we don't need very often (which is a drag - the drawers should just close better). It does look great, is extremelyy heavy once assembled and sturdy. Very nice looking piece of furniture. If you don't like assembling things for six hours, find something else. In hindsight I would have, but I do like it now that the work is done. We'll keep it for a long time.
