First of all, the bed arrives in 3 packages — the headboard, the wooden slats and the bed frame. Our bed frame box arrived two days after the other parts, which left us a little confused until we messaged the Online Chat Center and confirmed the other package would arrive the next day. Easy enough.
What was not easy was the assembly. Holy. Cow. At one point, we had 3 people working on it — the "bolt nuts" specifically. It was just super tedious and finicky. We survived, yes, but if you are not a patient person, you may want to look at other bed options.
*You will need a power drill to complete the bed.* That or superhuman forearm strength because you will need to screw in 34-36 slats that are only partially drilled through. The slat has a half-deep hole, and the bed frame part that you are connecting the slats to has nothing at all. We nearly used a drill bit to drill all the holes (glad we didn't -- don't do that), but the screws go in pretty easily with the help of a electric screwdriver of some sort.
This is not a "put together, take apart" kind of bed, so definitely assemble it in the room you plan to keep it in for a long, long time. But all in all it looks good. Just not fun to put together.
