This is a beautiful bed! I was worried about it looking cheap or not being sturdy, but neither of those concerns were founded.
I did have a few minor issues:
1) There are only a few supports on the frame so it really can't be used as a platform bed. Maybe it's is my misconception, but I assumed "Platform Bed" implied that there was no need for a box spring. I have a *** mattress and it sunk in deep between the supports. After a night of sleep, certain parts of the mattress sagged so much they almost touched the ground. Additionally, unless you have one of those extra deep mattresses, it will likely look too low (a few inch gap between the mattress and the bottom bar of the headboard). I ended up having to purchase a box spring (I found a great 4" box spring ***) to put under my mattress. It was annoying to spend another couple hundred bucks I wasn't initially planning to, but it looks perfect now, so it's not the end of the world.
2) The bed was slightly large for my mattress. There was a few inch gap between the end of my mattress and the footboard. I thought that perhaps the mattress I have was the non-traditional part of the equation, but when I checked other king sized beds online, they matched the dimensions of my mattress. While the actual length of this bed is longer than others, I'm sure the discrepancy between mattress and bed size was accentuated by my mattress sagging between the supports. After I got the box spring, this problem is almost unnoticeable.
This simple, clean style of bed (especially in the rose gold/copper color) was very difficult for me to find. So while there was a bit of finagling that had to be done to make it work, it DOES work and I am very happy with the result!
