Once assembled we love the look of this bed, but it took us 6 hours to put it together! Id liked to think we are a very handy couple. Assembling the drawers were fairly easy until you had to nail the bottom down. The front of the drawers have a large lip to it, so you can't get a normal hammer in there, or even a pin hammer, while simultaneously hold the tiny nail at the same time. We ended up borrowing a nail gun from a friend. Another issue were the drawer brackets, they aren't labeled and you have to pay attention which direction the wheels are going when you screw them in. Pay attention to the pictures in the directions, they're you're only hope. We also thought it would be a more quality wood on the inside and in the drawers, but it wasn't, and it splintered at times when we had to nail or screw pieces in. I concur with Julie's review from March, unscrew the footboard bolts (and the headboard while youre at it) before adding the left and right sideboards and save yourself a headache. Patience is a virtue adding the sideboards, cause you need tiny baby hands to get into these ridiculously small sections to screw sh*t in. All in all the look of the bed is great, but even with the recommendation of low profile box spring, the bed sits very high once the mattress is on top. I was under the impression the box spring would sit inside structure and be mostly hidden, but it's actually mostly exposed. We have to buy much taller night stands to accommodate for the added height and the doggy will need a step ladder to get up there.
