We recently upgraded to a king bed and needed a new headboard. My old queen headboard was the Skyline curved nailhead style in linen gray which I loved, so I knew I wanted to go with the same brand. I ordered several swatches from the Skyline Furniture website (took about a week and a half to receive) and I was most impressed with the light grey velvet--looks high end and the color is neutral (could go with almost anything). Other swatches I received were the platinum micro suede which is very similar to the light grey velvet but not as attractive IMO. I also got the linen talc which was very pretty (mix of cream and light tan fibers).
I put this headboard together by myself (did need help carrying it upstairs). It took about 90 minutes. In order to attach the wings, I leaned the headboard against the foot of my bed with the headboard upside down and the tufted side touching the bed. Once the wings were attached I tipped the headboard onto the mattress and slide it back and then tipped it right side up against the wall. Then I attached it to the bed frame. All the screws lined up and all pieces were included. It definitely would be easier to do with two people. If you want something easier I'd recommend one of the skyline styles without wing backs. Those are super easy to put together.
One thing that I did not consider is that the wings block a lot of the light from my bedside lamps. I'm getting used to it but it caught me off guard at first. This style definitely makes a statement and adds a lot of presence to our room.
