I just love this pot due to fact it can be used on out door fire place oven stove top it just makes great stews ect due to even heating I would recommend this cast iron set to anyone
I really like it. Don't have to turn burner up s o high. Cooks evenly.

Bayou Classic Cast Iron 6-qt Covered Soup Pot
My husband uses the dutch oven and when I bought this for our future Son in Law, my Husband immediately said he wanted one. So, this is his Christmas gift.
I was raised cooking on cast iron. The fact that the bottom cooking surface was not perfectly smooth does not effect the performance of the pot. It's not like you are going to be making sunny side up eggs in it! I do suggest seasoning or curing the pot a minimum of 3 times.
