  • Great rod but use own wall anchors
    Verified Purchase

The rod itself is great. I got the bronze color and it is slightly darker than pictured, which is a good thing. Used it to hang sheers with rod clips. It looks like similar ones sold in high-end stores and catalogs at a higher price. Metal is sturdy. Installation was easy. However, the hollow wall anchors that come with it are terrible. Upgrade those with ones from your local home improvement store. 4 stars instead of 5 just for that inconvenience. Otherwise, great value.

  • Sturdy Rod, great price!
    Verified Purchase

I was looking for a rod to use across my entire dining room wall to hide my french doors and add some extra elegant drama for evening dining. This rod was extremely easy to hang and if you expose the ends, gives a touch of industrial or 'restoration' to the room. It would have easily cost me triple the costs in one of those bath or home stores. This is not a cheap rod, it is very well constructed, and sturdy. Best to predrill holes and use the anchors to insure the hangers are in the wall tight, especially given the size of this rod. I have 4 large 95" chocolate blackout panels with grommet tops hanging from the rod and it looks like I had a designer put it together! With free shipping as a Club Great Offer Stock member, and the 5% back, this was a complete no brainer!

I was worried about how I would get the rod down to change curtains but it easily separates from the part of the bracket screwed to the wall. Great product!

  • fine curtain rods
    Verified Purchase

Loved the casual look of these rods. I ordered them because of the way they wrap back allowing the curtains to help keep out the cold outside air. As another reviewer stated, one does have to take the whole rod down to change the curtains, so if you change your look a lot, you may not wish to have these rods. Otherwise, a great buy!

  • Great for Black Out Curtains
    Verified Purchase

I did a lot of research on what type of curtain rod to buy for my bedroom. We have 8ft wide french doors with the screened windows on either side of the doors, and these windows have doors of their own. They let in a lot of light, which my husband doesn't care for. I purchased black out curtains, but I had to make sure that the rod I got would completely cover the whole window/door area. I have never purchased a wrap around rod before, so I was leary. I thought that the thick curtains I got would bunch up in the curve. I decided to chance it and I'm glad I did. These rods were just what I needed! The curtains wrap around my doors and windows beatifully! Because of the distance from the wall the rods stick out, there is no bunching. Like I mentioned, I purchased black out curtains, which are double layered. I got the pewter rod, which is nice looking. I also got matching rings for the rod as well. My curtains look nice, open or closed. My husband really likes the way they look. The only thing I didn't care for was that it was difficult to get the rod up. My husband put it up, but it is a two person job in that it is a little weighty. Also, it was hard to get the rings on the rod. Since this rod completely attaches to the wall, you have to put the rings on the rod before hanging. If you want to change the rings you would have to completely remove the rod, change, and re-attach. For me, it was worth the trouble. I got hooks for the curtains and rings that accommodate the hooks. You just have to be sure of everything before you hang the rod.

Questions & Answers

  • Q:

"Do you have the rings for this rod"

    • A:

I used grommet curtains so no rings are required, if you choose curtains that require rings you'll have to purchase rings

    • A:

No I do not have the rings for this rod

  • Q:

"Does this length come in a double rod?"

    • A:

Hi there. Mine did not. I liked it enough to get a second one. I like the way they wrap around to keep the light out. Mary

  • Q:

"I have a couple of questions... 1) Are All the rods adjustable? I am looking for the longest one you have up to 144" in the bronze. But it is hard to determine. The listing says adjustable but when you scroll down of choosing it says only gold and white is adjustable. 2) I have 4 blackout panels to hang. Does this rod come with extra reinforcement brackets? If not can you direct me to which ones I should use of this product? 3) Can you tell me how do you get the curtains down if you need to change them? Do you need to unscrew from the wall and then reinstall? thanks"

    • A:

I purchased the black rod and yes it was adjustable to 144". I hung 3 blackout curtains on it and no it does not come with extra supports. Usually this long of rods do, so I was surprised they did not include any. Luckily I had some extra ones from some other rods I had purchased years ago. They were not exactly the same but worked just fine since they were the same color..I only needed one extra, but if you are hanging 4 curtains you will need to get 2 extra. You do not have to unscrew from the wall to get them down. You just loosen the set screw on your supporting bracket and slide the middle extension rod one way or the other to get them on or off.

    • A:

I just purchased this rod in black and it came with a center support bracket. I am very pleased with the rod. It's sturdy and looks good.

  • Q:

"CAn you tell me how do you get the curtains down if you need to change them? Do you need to unscrew from the wall and then reinstall?"

    • A:

Sort of, yes. You do have to unscrew 1 side. However, it is very simple and only need to screw 1 side back in. I have changed mine out several times and it has not impacted the integrity of the screws hold in the wall. These are extremely durable and now the only rod I will use!

    • A:

You don't undo the screws that go INTO the wall. The 'flange' like piece stays connected to the wall. There is a single screw (the "set-screw") that holds the elbow piece over the stubby piece attached to the wall -- the screw holds the elbow piece at whatever depth ("return") you have chosen for your rod (3.5-5.5"). When loosened (it's a pretty short screw, probably it will drop out! be ready to catch it), there's plenty of play to slide the elbow all the way off, then slide it out of the long center piece or simply turn the elbow towards the floor and slide your curtains off. Replace rod and screw to keep all the parts together! For replacing the curtains, it may be easier to undo both ends if you have the 96-144" rod, because awkward!

  • Q:

"I just purchased this curtain rod and am wondering if the coordinating double rod piece is sold separately? We just hung the drapes and realize it needs a rod for sheers - hoping this is an available option for purchase without having to disassemble and return the single rod in exchange for the double rod... Please advise!"

    • A:

You will be contacted by Customer Care.

  • Q:

"For a door needing 114 width, does it work without a center bracket? Need without in order to stack back"

    • A:

You will DEFINITELY need a center bracket (included) with this rod even if you use sheets. The spread of the outer brackets is way too far and it would sag without one.

    • A:

If you buy the 96-144", enough of the inside rod will be inside the outside rod to do without a center support. Of course you can't use a support on a patio slider! I hung black-out (but lightweight) grommet-top drapes on two 70" patio doors; one had stack back on the longer rod, the other no SB because into a corner so I had to get a shorter rod -- both work without a center support. These are very strong and sturdy rods.

  • Q:

"I need a much longer length than is available for my screened in porch. Could I purchase several of these and extend the length?"

    • A:

No because the two end pieces that attach to the wall slide inside of a rod piece in the middle. How far you pull the end pieces out of the middle rod is how you adjust the length. If the curtains are light weight you could buy a pvc pipe, spray paint to match, and replace the middle piece that the ends slide into and that would extend your length. Or since its inside a patio you could recreate the look of these rods with galvanized steel pipes and fittings. It would be a lot heavier so good anchors or solid wood would be a must. If you do this the curtain rings with the clips would be best. These rods are amazing btw, we have done every window in two houses now.

    • A:

If you're still looking for long and extendable rods, search Great Offer Stock for Bold Pole. You will see 90-144" and 144-240" lengths. Here is the thing: if you buy the 144-240" length, what you get is two boxes of the 90-144" rods! You hybridize them to make one longer rod, having two finials and one piece left over -- that's why the combined length is 240" not 288". So your longest length with that "kit" is 20-feet! But you could even purchase another 90-144" and put three together and cover 336" or 28'. No limit actually, as long as you have a place to put support brackets along the length to keep the rod from bowing down. And the Bold Pole is even stronger/thicker than the Barricade, so you won't need too many brackets (depending on weight of curtains), maybe only one in the middle.

  • Q:

"Will Great Offer Stock be getting this curtain rod, in the 96"-144" length, in BLACK again?"

    • A:

We are unaware if or when the black rod will be restocked.

    • A:

The colors and lengths do come and go in availability. I ordered some rods in lengths I *hoped* would work, that turned out not to work, but by the time I got to hanging them and discovered the un-workable-ness, the appropriate ones were back in stock! (I also ordered a number of rods in the double-rod configuration bc the single was not in stock but the double was. The secondary 'sheer' rod was simply stuck in the shipping box in its own internal box, not actually a part of the rod or bracket. So wait and see, if you can.

  • Q:

"What is distance from the mounting bracket to the travel area of the rod in inches ? Item #13625804"

    • A:

I installed this rod at my Daughters house, so I don't have it in front of me to measure exactly, but Its definitely 3 1/2 - 4 inches. Hope this helps.

  • Q:

"Can these be mounted from the ceiling or not. One answer says yes another answer says no. And what color are the ones for $48?"

    • A:

I ordered the white ones for the **. I have them hanging from the wall, but they appear as though they could be hung from the ceiling as well. Hope this helps.

  • Q:

"Does the Pewter look like Brushed Nickel?"

    • A:

Yes to me it looks like brushed nickel and that is why I got it.

    • A:

      Yes. looks very good.

    • A:

Yes it goes very nicely with the nickle grommets on the drapes I also got from Great Offer Stock.

    • A:

      YES! Not disappointed

  • Q:

"Is there a limit on how much weight the rod can hold. My curtains are a 130" by 50" each panel."

    • A:

The rods, themselves, are very sturdy and have a center bracket for support. You may need to buy sturdier anchors to attach the rod to the wall or screw the brackets into studs if your panels are made of an extra heavy material. I have 92" thermal blackout curtain, and I didn't have a problem.
