    I purchased this for daughter's first dorm room - she wanted a desk lamp that was functional but also part of her "Breakfast At Tiffany's" art Deco theme. I waa concerned that it would look cheap and the faux crystal beads would appear dull & be made of cheap plastic with ugly metal wires stringing them together. Not at all! The lamp was much larger than I expected and although it's lightweight due to the faux materials, it truly replicates a look of sturdy chrome w/a mirrored shine and reflective crystal beads. A perfect combination of inexpensive materials that create a look of luxury. The light is strong and bright, without being harsh, and illuminates the entire corner of her room as well as her work/study area on her desk. I would happily purchase a set and this would make an excellent lamp for a bedroom/side tables, the top of a credenza or a buffet, on a hallway/half-moon table in front of mirror, or even on a vanity in addition to a desk lamp. This lamp is a perfect blend of the decorative and functional, using inexpensive materials to their best advantage in order to keep the price point low. As long as the manufacturer doesn't change anything, this is the best lamp I've seen/found in this style (art Deco/metallic silver-chrome with crystals).
