Nice shade This was a nice shade, unfortunately it arrived damaged from the manufacturer (top mounting bar was broken in half at a knot in the pine wood) and there was an attempt made to mend it with a staple. The shade was 74" long though, and that wouldnt work. Great Offer Stock has great customer service and the shade was returned for a refund.

FABULOUS Shades!!!!!! I really love these shades!!! I couldn't have ask for anything better. They were better then expected. I have them in all my bedrooms and living room windows and they are very private. You can't see in at all! I back up to a neighborhood walking trail and I never worry about anyone seein in when the blinds are closed. They are also very strong. I've had them for almost five months and I open them every morning and close them every night. They are just as strong as the day I put them up.

beyond beautiful i've used bamboo blinds for years, but i just moved into a new house and my old ones are all too narrow for my new windows. i love the look of bamboo blinds at night, but i have not been such a fan of how they are woven so loosely as to let in quite a bit of light and don't really block visibility from the outside. THESE ARE DIFFERENT!!! these are wonderful; i wondered how bamboo blinds could possibly be "privacy" as the name suggests and they are too inexpensive to hope that there would be a privacy panel on the inside. these are woven so tightly that there is no possibility of outside peeping. (i live in nyc, it's a thing.) they also are effective at blocking the light, which is great for me because my husband likes the blackout curtains, but i hate curtains in general, and i love the look and feel of the natural bamboo blinds. these are so perfect. the color is perfection, they are so beautiful, and they are so well-made. my family can't get enough of how great they are. we started with the 4 windows in our front room, but we will be moving through our entire house and using these as our window treatments. the price is also phenomenal. if you're looking for bamboo blinds, or even just beautiful, unique, clean window treatments, you won't regret these!

Grey wash Had been looking for something for our house with a slight beachy, washed out feel. These are great! They warm up the space but very different and inexpensive. I originally bought them for my living room and just ordered more for my family room as well. They do let some light in, and i doubt they provide full privacy from outside, but that was unimportant to us.We ordered 1 inch less than the actual opening, but they are ok, just a bit of light gets in on the sides. I gave them 4 stars because the cords are long and a bit in the way. They would be perfect if cordless!

I've purchased four of these blinds, all to be mounted inside. I think you'll find that if you order two 54" blinds, they'll either be too wide for an inside mount or, at best, a very tight fit. But I can understand your concern about a 54" and 53". Might be worth trying two 54s, or try two 53s and fiddle a bit with the gap between and on the sides. They are really nice blinds.

Definitely need the extra space for the brackets and screws with the inside mounting. The metal brackets to hang these shades are only about 2 mm thick but there are 2 for each shade so I believe that's why they advise to leave a quarter inch to spare. In your case you would be using 4 brackets so you may want to leave a half inch to spare. I have a 71" opening but it appears to be 2 windows joined together. I have a seam a few inches wide in between the 2 windows. I used 2 35" shades, I have less than a 1" gap between the 2 shades but it looks fine because its not a single window. So where your 2 shades meet in the middle you will have about 4 mm of space, at least. The 2 brackets go back to back. I hope the way I explained it makes sense and helps with your decision.

I would suggest going with 53". If you go with the exact width, the shades will be extremely tight and actually hard to maneuver up and down.

That's exactly what I did ,and they fit great. They do meet in the middle ,they butt up next to each other ,so there is no gap. The are great,so much better then curtains.

I have 36" wide windows and ordered 36" width blinds. They are too wide appoximately 36 1/8" I did not unroll so do not know whether both inside and outside mount. I will have to return/exchange.
