"Is it possible to shorten the length? My window is only 42 inches long and right in front of my sink so I can't have a bunch of excess in the way"

Happy Shopper Blinds look nice in the windows. They block almost all of the light out when closed. Fairly easy to hang. Ended up hanging them as an outside mount bc they were a little bit wide. Measure exactly for inside mount. Very pleased with these blinds.
