I am thrilled at the look, feel and quality of this wool rug. I was afraid that the lightest color in the center and along the edge would be too light, but it was actually a medium beige tone. The rust color around the border is deep and rich, not orange as I feared. The green is a medium olive green with some accents of darker olive in the leaves. There are also small touches of gold, black and burgundy. The pile is dense and thick. It is being used under my dining table and looks like it will wear well. My table is round. The beauty of the octagon shape is that it adds visual interest around a round table and it can be rotated to avoid the appearance of soil and wear. The rug is nice and beefy and it laid right down without even a wrinkle. It came rolled around a bolster, not folded which would have potentially creased it permanently. I used to sell area rugs and this rug is comparable to a much more expensive rug such as Nourisan or Couristan or Karastan! It could have easily cost $1,000 retail. I could not be happier and would highly recommend purchasing it.
