I ordered due to moving into new house, I wanted a neutral color but something that also had character. I had seen similar dinnerware at *****, and ***** , but it seemed heavy. This set is lighter but still has beautiful lines. Also seems it would not chip as easily as the other clay version. I ordered addtional serving pieces from Replacements.com.
All I can say is that I had been ogling these dishes at Neiman Marcus and Horchow.com, and I was overjoyed when I found them on greatofferstock.com for cheaper. The dishes are beautiful, love the ornate baroque detail and the antique, weathered finish. However, they are a little lighter than I expected. But my greatest complaint is that these dishes chip SOOOO easily. I've only had them for less than two weeks, and there are already several chips through out. Hugely disappointed. So now I'm torn, because although I am reluctant to return them because they are so gorgeous, I don't want to waste my money on something that is so cheap and does not seem like it's going to hold up very well over time. I have dish sets that I've purchased from Marshall's for less that I've had for years that don't have a single nick yet. I'm very sad.

I looked and looked and looked for new dinnerware for months before biting the bullet and buying this set. It caught my eye very early on in the search, but my husband fought me on it and thought it was way to "foofy" for us, but in the end I listened to my heart and bought 2 sets. I live in a rustic home in the forest with a very rustic dinner table custom made from reclaimed timber from a warehouse floor in Seattle, but I absolutely love the juxtaposition of combining something rustic with an unexpected pop of something "foofy". I was reluctant to buy white dinnerware, but this set is definitely not a traditional white. It is an antiqued white with areas of greyish brown "worn spots" made to look old and worn out. The dinnerware itself has a great juxtaposition of the stuffy baroque foof with purposeful man made aging to make it more rustic and casual. It looks fabulous on my table. My one issue I have is with the coffee cups. They are tiny and probably only hold about 6 ounces of fluid. They are very dainty and delicate with the thin handles and each one comes with a saucer, which I think is just adorable! I did not want 8 tiny cups and saucers, but I ordered 2 sets of the dinnerware so I could have service for 8, so I had no choice because this pattern is only sold in sets. A person might get lucky and find someone else selling off pieces from a set they previously purchased or you can go to replacements.com and pay ungodly prices for individual pieces, so be forewarned it will cost a fortune to piecemeal this pattern. I think I will put a piggy bank next to my dishwasher and put all my spare change in it for my replacement fund when I chip the pieces I have on the granite countertops, which I have a knack for doing on a regular basis. I would highly recommend this set to anyone looking for a beautiful, unique yet affordable dinnerware set! You will not regret your purchase and if you do, please contact me immediately so I can buy it off you!
It's beautiful, very elegant look but...they describe 11.5 inches for the dinner plates and the actually measure 10 to 10.5 inches
This is by far the prettiest pattern I have owned. I am totally pleased. Also a special word about the bowls... This is a deep bowl which I absolutely love! I needed or actually wanted holiday dishes when I saw this pattern I decided to choose the *** it will be perfect for my Thanksgiving family meal as well as every birthday get together and my Christmas social. This place setting is perfect I can dress it up or use it more casually I am beyond pleased

A number of yrs ago I purchased both of my daugbters different patterns of Americana Atelier dishes. They both were so beautiful and daughters loved them. So when I moved I bought myself a set and then tbey wereost in a .o e. Lasg week my set was repla ed witb this pjrcbase. Iove t hem just as .uch as the original and yes they do get hot in micowa e as ghe info on dishes state. Thats not a problem I have a set of rubbermaid for war.i g. In fact I do not have a shippi g pr o blem and it may be to the fact tbat I don't microwae them.
For a classy affair, with class and grace, get this set. Its much cheaper on *** than on ***. Note the price.

After just 6 months I have lost a few pieces and many more are chipped. The dishes are so soft you can not use a serrated steak knife without cutting into the finish.

I am so pleased with these dishes. They're not very practical for using; however, I want to decorate with them so they are perfect. These are an excellent value and you won't be disappointed. I just enjoy gazing at them. They make me so happy.
Got them and liked the color, but the dinner plate is much smaller than expected. After a few months we are already having to replace the set due to chipped and cracked plates. Would not recommend.

Received my dinnerware set, but one salad plate was shattered. Didn't want to go through the hassel of returning it, so I'm dealing with having a missing plate. I love this set, though!
Beautiful dishes. The cups are a little thicker at the rim than I like but they are a good size and so very pretty. There was a broken bowl and a broken cup.
Beautiful set. Unfortunately for me, I have a husband that breaks and chips everything! I've had the set for about a year - he's already broken a bowl and chipped a plate! It's a beautiful set and holds up well in the dishwasher - just keep my husband away from it!!!!
I was looking for a new dinnerware set that was different but wouldn't set my Social Security budget back a hundred years. This has very elegant details on the dinnerware without being overly girly or fussy and the price is right. I plan to purchase additional pieces from (Replacements.com) to round out the set. It has a medium weight feel to it so I believe it will hold up well under repeated usage. Over-all a nice dinnerware set at a reasonable price. I would recommend it to family and friends.
