Good deal on a beautiful, classic chypre scent
In true Creed fashion, the name doesn't really reveal much about how the fragrance smells. This homage to the iris is more about the woody scent of the root than the floral scent of the blossom. Irisia one opens with some brief floral top notes, but settles into a true chypre with green and oakmoss overtones. It was created in 1968 and shares much with other chypre fragrances from that era, especially Givenchy III and perhaps Aliage (but not as loud as Aliage). Here are the notes: TOP: iris, tuberose and violet; MIDDLE bergamot and Sicilian mandarin BASE: sandalwood, amber, vanilla and oak moss.
Creed has been cleaning house and has recently discontinued several of their classic fragrances; one of which was Irisia. Look for this to pop up, discounted, on line for a short time and then become one of those sought after Holy Grail perfumes. (Especially since EU regulations no longer permit the use of natural oak moss in perfume.)
I ordered three bottles of Irisia through Great Offer Stock - 2 of the 1 oz and one bottle of the 2.5 oz. All of them arrived in perfect condition; well packaged in the original boxes, inside nests of shrink wrap and heavy, brown cardboard shipping boxes. From order to arrival was no longer than three days for any of the orders. The perfume juice itself was fine, neither stale or turned. The sprayer has the white base and is not counterfeit. This is a good deal on Creed Irisia.
