Burberry for Men is a classic, smooth, masculine scent to my nose. It's more upscale than most Polo/Nautica offerings. The scent is aromatic, spicy, and woody, but understated in that typical, English way. That being said, Burberry for Men will become offensively loud if over-applied so be careful with this one. My nearly empty bottle is over 10 years old, and it is still potent.
The fragrance is nicely done with good composition and presentation. I get better than average longevity of 6+ hours on my skin with very good projection for a solid 4 hours, then it softens and mellows to a discreet skin scent.
Burberry for Men opens with Cedar, Mint, Lavender, Bergamot, and Sandalwood right from the get-go. The woods stay through the dry down, but the Vanilla and Amber emerge fairly quickly and combine with Mint to give me that spicy, Autumn, Apple Pie vibe.
Thyme, Jasmine, and Geranium are lurking around in the mix through the dry down, but don't establish themselves through the note orchestration. They're there, but playing softly in the background.
The fragrance finishes on me with a soft, Musk, Amber, Oak Moss, Cedar, and a predominately dry, powdery, Vanilla accord.
Burberry for Men is a very good, casual, upscale fragrance for late Summer & Fall daytime use for me. Overall, I find the scent pleasant, but not outstanding. It's one of those scents I wear to smell masculine and classy, with a measure of sophistication, but still fly relatively unnoticed under the olfactory radar. Burberry for Men is a good scent that wears well on me.
